I bought this for a family member that just wanted a clock to replace the cable box clock she used to have as her brand new cable box does not have a clock on the front anymore (cost saving garbage? They claim people don't LIKE clocks or displays of ANY KIND on cable boxes which is a blatant lie). Unfortunately I was mistakenly under the impression its auto-set feature would sync via radio signal to the atomic clock but this is sadly not the case. It's just a battery backed PRE-SET clock from the factory. The date on it when plugged in mentioned 2014. It's 2018. The clock time was off by 4.5 minutes from the actual time. That's consistent with 'typical' crappy quartz crystals used these days that lose or gain 30-60 seconds per year. I call that highly inaccurate. Most devices sold on here call it highly accurate. What a joke. What good is a 'self-setting' clock that needs to be manually corrected every 1-2 years? Worse yet I'm afraid that because Congress keeps changing the dates of daylight saving time that it will change the hour on the wrong date (the relative already has one clock like this and that means it needs set 4 times a year because it changes the time on the wrong day now). IF it had used a radio signal it would correctly set the time every night. Sadly the models I've seen that DO have that feature for certain aren't the best models to use as a replacement for a simple dim clock to put in an entertainment center (so you know what time it is while watching TV). I couldn't find a model that seemed ideal for both. - Verified Store
