  1. This is a great little TT for the price...! 0 people found this helpful
    Overall Performance

For BLACK turntable, not BROWN or Teak, as they call it...! There's two different models... Low End Model = $99 +/- ...! The High End Model = $129 +/- ....! I'm reviewing the High End Model, because there are differences that some may have gotten confused with and got the wrong model when ordering...?! They look EXACTLY the same, so it's definitely an easy mistake to make! The wireless BT models are the higher end models! For the cost of this TT, I'm very surprised and excited that this company has gone out of the way to add a DC motor that has a mechanism that through optical observation reads the speed of the platter rotation at 60 times per/second and determines and controls the speed of the RPM in order for you to hear your records the way they were intended because the actual rotation is a constant 45 rpm or 33.3 rpm! This is an option that you will probably never find on any TT at this price point...!? Speed Boxes are usually something that you either purchase separately and add to your TT or you buy a Top-Shelf TT brand that designs their TTs with a built in speed box and they most likely cost more than the whole cost of this TT...! When I receive my TT I will test it and report back with an update on this review, since I have a gauge to test the RPMs of TTs...!Wow.... I've read pretty much every review and I have to tell you, I'm no rocket scientist but some of these people who are not happy probably should stick to CDs or Streaming because just reading what they wrote made me stop, shake my head and read it again...! There's a whole lot of stupid going on in the world and I just witnessed enough to last me until the end of the month! Let's start with the person complaining about skipping and sound issues and then right after that complaint they mention how they have their speakers 5' to 7' away from the player....? ! Not sure where you went to school, but if you have speakers that close to the player and turn them up..... OF COURSE YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE ISSUES BECAUSE THE VOLUME AND SOUND PRESSURE IS GOING TO MAKE THE RECORD SKIP...!! WOW that's what they call common sense man! If the player is anywhere near or on the same table/counter/shelf, etc., as your speakers, then the speakers will vibrate the player no matter how heavy it is and as far as static noise or whatever the other complaint was about.... you need to use a grounding wire so you can ground the TT to eliminate that problem!! I'm looking forward to receiving mine, because it seems like it has some pretty decent features for the price and I have used Canadian audio gear and have never been disappointed! I use a pair of PSB powered speakers everyday, they're hooked up to my Fire Cube and TV, the speakers sound great and they come with multiple ways of outputting your audio, which include USB, Toslink, Coax, RCA, Bluetooth AND for anyone who has a TT but it doesn't happen to have a built in phono amp.... don't worry because PSB actually added a Phono Amp right into the speakers themselves!! So I would recommend that you fully understand what it is that you're doing and what it is that you are going to need to achieve your goals before talking crap about Canada! I would ignore the negative reviews about this turntable because although I haven't received mine yet, I'm pretty experienced with TTs and have owned and do own a handful of them and they are not as durable as CDs, CD players or iPods and/or any other digital music devices! They're record players that require some patience and a little thought put into what it is that you are doing! Setting up the TT and playing your records is a far more delicate task than just throwing your phone or MP3 player and/or your BT speakers around, tossing them on the couch or on the bed while you are listening to them...! Take your time, make sure you set the TT up so that everything is correct and you have the correct connections and don't forget to bring your common sense with you because you will need it, this is not the digital world with your entire library of music all stored on a drive somewhere that you can toss around...! Well good luck being aggravated with your TT and records, but it sounds to me like anyone who is that annoyed with a record player should just stick to something that is more convenient and doesn't require your attention!

  4. Great Turntable 0 people found this helpful
    Overall Performance

I got this to replace a smaller one I had gotten earlier. This appealed to me in two ways. First, the wood base matched pretty closely the entertainment center it sits on. Secondly, the bluetooth connection. It sits right above my high-end soundbar and I wanted to take advantage of the outstanding sound it produces. It has not disappointed me. It connected right away, and has continued to do so every time since. Like many, I was off physical records for some time, but always kind of missed them. I still use my cd player, but I wanted to get back into them. I sold many years' worth of records a dozen years ago or so, but have since gotten a few new ones. The sound is great - there really is a difference that even I can appreciate! This turntable has a great feature in that it shuts off when it reaches the end of record. It looks like this is a fairly common feature these days, but it's the first one I've owned that does it. I highly recommend this turntable. Just be careful to note that bluetooth connectivity is the ONLY way you will be able to hear your records playing.
