Well constructed and Heavy. This record weight def made a difference in the quality of sound and reduces vibration hum.

I can see why some reviews are complaining about it bending the record up and away from the platter.It's very heavy and I tested with a rubber platter mat on my acrylic platter. Did the same thing as others have mentioned. Is imagine it will do the same thing with any "soft" platter.However with mat removed and the record directly on the acrylic platter it helped tremendously with a couple records that are slightly warped.
